Parliament and Civics Education Rebate

Schools more than 150 kilometres from Canberra may be able to get help from the Australian Government to cover costs of a civics and citizenship education excursion to Canberra.

The Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) gives a travel rebate to schools travelling more than 150 kilometres to visit Canberra as part of a civics and citizenship education excursion. The excursion should be attended by students in Year 4 to Year 12.

To get the rebate schools must use Civics and Citizenship Education resources to prepare for the excursion. Information is available in the PACER guidelines and application form.

What funding is available?

The rebate available is from $20 to $260 per student, depending on the distance travelled.
