About the Department
The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) is the Australian Government department responsible for national policies and programs that enable all Australians to access quality and affordable childcare; early childhood and school education; jobs; and fair, safe and productive workplaces.
The department is also responsible for the Office for Youth which provides a coordinated approach to policies, programs and services which affect young people.
Budget
Through the annual Australian Government Budget, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations is given an annual budget to carry out its services and programs in order to deliver positive outcomes for all Australians in the areas of early childhood, schooling, employment, workplace relations and youth affairs.
