The Centre for Workplace Leadership

The Australian Government is funding the creation of the Centre for Workplace Leadership.

The centre will support the government’s aim to improve workplace productivity by creating higher performing workplaces and stronger leadership capability in Australian workplaces.

Working across all industries, sectors and regions of Australia, the Centre for Workplace Leadership will work to improve leadership capability in workplaces of all sizes, including small and medium enterprises. It will also focus on developing the leadership skills of our young people.

The centre will lead debate on the relationships between high performing workplaces, effective management practices and quality jobs. The centre will educate workers at all levels on the importance of good leadership. It will undertake research on leadership and management practices, workplace culture and productivity in Australian workplaces.

The centre is designed to be a joint venture of industry and government and will operate as an independent, expert, not-for-profit entity.

The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations is inviting proposals from organisations to establish and administer the centre under the Centre for Workplace Leadership Fund (Grant) Program.

The Request for Proposal Process will be open from 12 pm Monday 17 December 2012 until 1.30 pm on Thursday 31 January 2013.
